THE DANCING LEAVES OF AUTUMN

The dancing leaves of Autumn are falling again
swirling and twirling and whirling all around
dancing and prancing their way to the ground

a breeze comes along ah whistling a song
and sends them way back up into the air
to do their dance again all without a care

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS

It's the little things
like your butterfly kisses and midnight prayers
and playing together on the beach
and sitting in the surf with you
that makes life so grand

It's the little things
like watching you learn how to ride a bike
playing catch in our front yard
or flying your very first kite

that makes life more than alright

It's the little things
like how you squeezed me tight
and holding onto my hand
and knowing you're alright
that make me so glad to be your dad

It's the little things
like having you all to myself again
even if just for a few minutes
dinner conversation and lots of smiles
that will carry me through many more of life's hard miles
