GIVE ME MY GUITARS AND GIVE ME SOME STRINGS

Give me my guitars and give me some strings
give me lots of blues notes and an amp that sings
give me a good song to play and I feel like a teen
don't be bothering me with any other boring routine

I HEARD SOME GREAT LIVE JAZZ

I heard some great live jazz
with lots and lots of pizzazz
and a little bit of razzmatazz
so fantastic it was for awhile
it really made my ears smile
I am sure for at least a mile

This is my very first poem for the new year 2010
it's time to wipe the slate clean and start again
over and over the cycle of years go oh so fast
all of my new beginnings shifting to the past
but to start again anew is what I now must do
praying and hoping this will get read by you
